How builders do a forward cut in a stone?

They created the top of my fireplace stack with a extremely straight outside perimeter line. I’m attempt to recreate anything similar with my masonry mailbox, however I’m not certain how they made the rock rift so straight.

Some suggestions?

Wet saw with diamond blade, as others said, but it is difficult for the blade and you should have a good HP on the vehicle, to win t crashes.

They also make a 7 1 / 4 “masonry blade that you saw fit and have a 4″ blade to fit angle grinders, if you have one.

The latter two make a terrible mess dusty so wear a dust mask and eye protection and make it out of hand. GL

Use a wide chisel and score it several times along your line. . . You may have to flip over and cut the other side. . .
